General Rules
1) All New Members MUST be at least a freshman in high school, unless otherwise approved by the Board of Directors. ALL members under 18 years of age MUST complete both a medical waiver form and a parental permission form supplied to them upon joining. Failure to complete these forms WILL result in the loss of marching privileges.
2) All marching members will be required to pay a $300 membership fee.
3) Each member of the corps is expected to participate in corps fund raising activities. Each member will have a $300 commitment. Any monies raised over that amount will be applied to tuition, DCA rooms, or anything else they wish.
4) Punctual attendance at all scheduled corps rehearsals and performances is MANDATORY.
5) Membership is responsible for their own appropriate attire during rehearsals (clothing, shoes, sun protection, hats, rain gear, etc).
6) Members are expected to attend corps functions prepared to work and perform to the best of their abilities
7) Offensive language will not be tolerated at any time.
8) Membership is expected to be positive, helpful and respectful of others at all times.
9) The Crusaders maintain a strict policy as to underage drinking and any member involved in the use of Illegal drugs. Any violation will be result in immediate dismissal. If the corps is on a trip a parent will be called to pick up the student/member.
10) Corps owned equipment must be handled with the proper care. Any damage to or loss of equipment is the financial responsibility of the corps member.
11) Each corps member is expected to display a positive attitude and speak in a complimentary manner about the corps.
12) Individual members are responsible for all food costs throughout the course of the season. The corps will provide housing costs at DCA Championships on Labor Day Weekend.
13) Members or members parents are expected to work 1 bingo occasion per month November through August, no exclusions. You must be signed up to work. Just showing up will not count as an occasion.
14) The deadline for Membership fees and bingo sign-up will be May 31
15) When in uniform, wearing corps colors, or displaying the corps insignia, all members shall conduct themselves in a manner, which will reflect positively on the corps. The wearing of clothes. Your attitude affects the image of your corps.
16) Members of legal drinking age will not consume alcoholic beverages prior to a performance, during practice or while traveling between performance events.
17) No member, management, staff personnel or any individual involved with the Rochester Crusaders will make advances or comments of a sexual or threatening nature to another member of this organization.
18) If for any reason there may be a conflict, it is your responsibility to communicate with your Caption Head ahead of time.
19) Facilities to allow the corps to rehearse are difficult to find; it is our job to leave the facilities better than how we found it.
Transportation & Bus Rules
1) Membership is responsible for transportation to and from corps events unless transportation is provided by the Corps.
2) Those who travel to corps functions using transportation provided by the Corps shall pay a fee for the use of this transportation. This includes marching members, instructional staff, support staff and administration. The amount of this fee will be established by the Board of Directors.
3) There is a no Drinking policy for anyone riding a bus supplied by the corps in the event there is only one bus and it is a mixed age situation.
Uniform & Equipment Rules
1) While in uniform no smoking or drinking.
2) Shoes must be cleaned & polished be fore every performance
3) Uniforms and uniform parts will remain on the equipment truck between performances
4) Gloves are a must when playing a brass instrument. The corps will supply the first pair of practice gloves and show gloves. If gloves need to be replaced for any reason, there will be a small fee charged to the member for a new pair.
5) All equipment will be returned after DCA finals. Horns and Drums· It is your responsibility to maintain equipment; you're responsible for damage from misuse, theft or careless neglect.
6) All Equipment will be returned in the same condition, less normal wear.

These policies voted on and put into effect by the Board of Directors of the Rochester Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps.
